Music Scholarship Application for 11+ and Sixth Form entry September 2026

Music Scholarships are open to both internal and external applicants.

External pupils who wish to be considered for a Music Scholarship must submit this form by Sunday 2 November 2025. Scholarship applications will only be considered if the applicant has also registered for a place at the school. Internal pupils who wish to be considered for a Music Scholarship must submit this form by Sunday 2 November 2025. Nothing further is required.

Kindly note that, due to the competitive nature of our scholarships, only a limited number of applicants will be invited to proceed to the next stage of the selection process.

The Music Scholarship auditions will be held on Friday 14 November 2025.

As a guide in deciding whether or not to apply, it is likely that successful applicants will have achieved a Grade 5 at 11+ or Grade 8 at Sixth Form or be at the equivalent standard in their main instrument.

Please indicate below which two instruments your child is currently learning and their grade. Applicants will be asked to perform two contrasting pieces of music on their main instrument; additional instruments or singing is welcome.

Applicants will also be asked to complete an aural test, sight reading test and have a short interview with the Director of Music.

Process:
Following receipt of this application form, the Music Department will contact applicants to confirm audition details or alternatively to advise that they have not been selected for audition.

The award of a Music Scholarship will be confirmed with the offer of a place which will be sent by email on Friday 13 February 2026 (for 11 plus), a date set by the North London Consortium of which St Benedict's is a part; and January 2026 for the Sixth Form.
