St Benedict's Junior school carol service 2023

Ealing Abbey was filled with the spirit of the season as the Junior School hosted its annual Carol Service. The air was filled with anticipation and excitement as families, students, teachers and friends, gathered to witness the vocal talents of pupils from Years 3 -6 ( Lower Prep to Form 2) as well as those in the Schola and School Choirs.

The service began with a solo from Olly (Form 2) singing the first verse of Once in Royal David's City after which everyone joined in.

Junior School Headmaster, Rob Simmons, read the first reading, Foretelling The Coming Of Christ, followed by the whole school harmoniously singing A Day Of Glory.

The evening's programme featured a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary carols showcasing the diverse musical talents of the students along with their unbridled enthusiasm, all led by Mr Field, Junior School Director Of Music.

The Schola gave a beautiful performance of The Holly and The Ivy, while the School Choir sang, Ding, Dong and Hallelu. Hallelu, Hallelujah.

In addition to the musical performances, the service featured readings and reflections delivered by students, adding heartfelt moments of thought to the proceedings.

Throughout the service, the congregation was invited to join in the singing of familiar carols, fostering a real sense of unity and concluding with a joyful rendition of Hark The Herald Angels Sing.

As the service drew to a close, the abbey was filled with a collective sense of joy and goodwill and community, creating a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

The Junior School Carol Service was not just a musical event; it was a celebration of tradition, community, and the magic of the festive season as seen through the eyes of the talented and spirited young performers.

There was a retiring collection for the Catholic Children's Society, Live With Hope (Kenya) and Wooden Spoon.
