A Benedictine Education
A School of the Lord’s Service
We recognise the unique gifts and talents of every individual. Our motto, a minimis incipe – ‘from the smallest beginnings’ – reminds us that everyone has enormous potential, and that great things begin with small steps. We are a school where all can find and develop their talents to the full.
In practice, the daily life of the school is guided by the following Benedictine principles:
Love and forgiveness
We try to live out Jesus’ commandment to "Love your neighbour as you love yourself".
Service
Pupils of all ages are encouraged to show leadership and service to others, within the school and in the wider community.
Stability in relationships
We encourage everyone to have respect for other people; to listen attentively to each other and to show honesty in all their relationships. Pupils are asked to behave thoughtfully and responsibly, for the good of the community.
Discipline
The discipline of daily routine helps students to achieve their best and develop their full potential.
Reflection
Spiritual growth is facilitated through prayer and reflection, in the daily life of the school.
Mindful of the world around us
We teach our pupils to show care and consideration for those around them, and to be good stewards of the environment.
