Art & Design Scholarship Application for Sixth Form entry in September 2026

Art & Design Scholarships are open to both internal and external applicants.

External pupils who wish to be considered for an Art & Design Scholarship must submit this form by Sunday 2 November 2025. Scholarship applications will only be considered if the applicant has also registered for inclusion in our Sixth Form assessments. Internal pupils who wish to be considered for an Art & Design Scholarship must submit this form by Sunday 2 November 2025. Nothing further is required.

Kindly note that, due to the competitive nature of our scholarships, only a limited number of applicants will be invited to proceed to the next stage of the selection process.

As a guide in deciding whether to apply for Fine Art, it is likely that successful candidates will display considerable talent in Fine Art. This may be in Drawing, Painting or Sculpture. They are likely to have sensitive drawing, painting and/or 3D modelling skills. We would also expect them to have an understanding of how meaning is conveyed through Art.

As a guide in deciding whether to apply for Design, it is likely that successful candidates will display considerable talent in 3D or Graphic Design. They are likely to be able to generate ideas using the design process.

Sixth Form applicant's portfolio should consist of both GCSE work and additional work and be predicted a grade 7 in a relevant Art & Design subject. Those awarded an Art & Design Scholarship at Sixth Form entry will be expected to take Art & Design studies as an A level option.

Applicants will be assessed on their portfolio, sit a test to gauge their skill level and have a short interview with the Head of Art.

Portfolio reviews, tests and interviews will take place on Friday 14 November 2025.

Process:

Following receipt of this application form, the Art Department will contact applicants to confirm interview/test details or alternatively to advise that they have not been selected for interview.

The award of an Art Scholarship will be confirmed with the offer of a place which will be sent by email in January 2026.
