Sixth Form Life
The Sixth Form at St Benedict's is a transformative and inspiring chapter in a student's education, blending academic ambition with personal growth and independence. At its heart is a unique mentoring relationship between each student and their tutor, who provides close, personalised guidance from the first days of A levels through to crafting exceptional university applications. This tailored support, combined with small class sizes and tutorial-style teaching, creates an atmosphere where every student can thrive academically and personally.

Our impressive new Sixth Form Centre offers dedicated spaces for both focused study and relaxed recreation, giving students the freedom to balance their growing independence with being part of a dynamic, supportive school community.
Sixth Formers enjoy the flexibility to explore their interests—whether stepping out for lunch, diving into independent research, or preparing for their next academic challenge—while embracing leadership roles as mentors, Decans, and role models for younger students.
St Benedict's has a proud record of academic success, with students regularly earning places at Oxbridge, top Russell Group universities, and prestigious courses in Medicine and Veterinary Science. Our curriculum is enriched by regular talks from inspiring guest speakers and visits to London’s renowned lectures, libraries, museums, and galleries. Students also have the chance to participate in unforgettable international trips to destinations such as Japan, Vietnam, Washington DC, and Iceland. Many opt to undertake the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which fosters intellectual curiosity and skills far beyond the A level syllabus, resulting in consistently outstanding achievements.
Leadership and personal development are integral to life in the Sixth Form. As senior members of the St Benedict’s community, students take on meaningful responsibilities, whether leading co-curricular initiatives, mentoring peers, or organising community events. Sixth Formers are also heavily involved in volunteering, supporting local charities, and brightening the lives of Ealing’s senior citizens with special events at Christmas and Easter. Beyond the classroom, there are endless opportunities to excel in sport, music, drama, and other activities, ensuring a well-rounded education that prepares students for the challenges of life beyond school.
At St Benedict’s, the Sixth Form experience is a blend of freedom and responsibility, independence and community, academic rigour and personal discovery. It is a launchpad for future success, equipping students with the confidence, knowledge, and values to thrive at university and beyond.
